Hard braking is one of the moments when a motorcycle has very little margin for error. If the front or rear wheel locks, the bike can lose stability exactly when the rider needs control most.
ABS monitors wheel speed and reduces brake pressure when a wheel starts to lock. It does not guarantee a short stop in every situation, but it can help preserve grip and steering control on changing road surfaces.
For everyday buyers, that makes ABS a practical comparison point. Between two similar motorcycles, ABS may matter more than a small difference in power or accessories, especially in city riding, rain, and early-season conditions.
Riders still need to practise braking. The system helps, but it does not replace safe following distance, good tyres, visual scanning, and regular brake maintenance.
