On Eldhusøya, an elevated circular walking path offers a change of pace. It is accessible throughout the year and lets you experience the coastline away from the saddle. The café follows seasonal hours: in September it opens on weekends and public holidays, so do not make it your only weekday refreshment plan.
Askevågen provides a different perspective. Its small platform sits at the end of a breakwater, with glass walls shielding visitors from wind and spray. The surrounding view takes in the sea, islands and mountainous shoreline. Allow time to linger rather than stopping for a single hurried photograph.
Leave room in the itinerary for walks and changing weather. Check road notices and opening hours before setting off. The short distance is an advantage: the coastline can set the pace of the day instead of the odometer.
