Bibione, on Italy’s Adriatic coast, is scheduled to host the Bibione Sand Storm from 23 to 25 October as round two of the 2026–27 FIM Sand Races World Championship. The series arrives after its opener in Morocco. Bibione returns to the calendar for a third consecutive season, making this a familiar stop for the championship.
Speed on a paved circuit offers little preparation for sand: tyres dig in, grip changes and a rider must keep finding a line that carries momentum. Over a long race, conserving energy matters alongside controlling the motorcycle as the surface is reshaped lap after lap. A beach round therefore shows a very different side of motorcycle sport from a conventional hard-surface track.
The FIM has set five rounds for this season, one fewer than before, citing lower logistics costs and a desire to encourage participation. After Bibione, the calendar moves to Loon-Plage in France on 7–8 November and Monte Gordo in Portugal on 27–29 November. Enduropale du Touquet in France will close the championship; its date had not been confirmed in the FIM announcement.
