Veteran and vintage motorcycle enthusiasts will gather again in Birdwood, South Australia, on 15 November. The club’s annual Figure 8 Ride starts at the local motor museum and is a familiar part of its events calendar. Two departures are planned, one in the morning and another in the afternoon.
Museum visitors are invited to watch the motorcycles leave through the Blumel Road gates. The event runs from 10 am to 2 pm, and watching the departures is included with museum admission. It offers a chance to see historic machines moving, rather than only standing in a display.
A club ride also keeps the practice of caring for and riding older motorcycles alive: the machines must be ready to travel, and people meet around a shared interest. For visitors, the advertised opportunity is to observe the departures during a museum visit; participation in the rides is a separate matter.
