Blood Bikes riders give their time to support hospitals. Volunteer groups represented by NABB transport blood, clinical supplies and donor milk. The service is provided to Britain’s NHS free of charge.
In Torbay, South West Blood Bikes began supporting the hospital trust with medicine deliveries in December 2024. By March 2025, the volunteers had completed more than 350 deliveries. The charity also works with other groups to pass consignments along longer relay routes.
The team extends beyond the person on the motorcycle. Drivers, dispatchers and fundraisers also take part. This is a practical side of motorcycling culture: riding skills become part of a shared contribution to the community.
