BMW Motorrad has announced an investment in Venna, a company developing high-performance electric motorcycles. Electric off-road riding is the focus of the partnership. BMW sees it as a way to explore new technologies and reach a different group of riders.
Venna will remain independent, while drawing on BMW Motorrad’s experience in motorcycle development and industrial production in selected areas. BMW, in turn, gains a closer view of the younger company’s technology and the electric off-road segment.
The announcement gives neither an investment amount nor a launch date for a jointly developed model. For now, this is a strategic partnership rather than a motorcycle ready for sale. Its progress will show how a large manufacturer’s scale can support a smaller company’s development work.
