In Bokrijk, Belgian Limburg, a path more than 200 metres long crosses a pond with the water at eye level on both sides. Find it at junction 91 of the cycle route network. Walkers and runners share the crossing.

A 6.4-kilometre route offers a short ride through the Bokrijk estate. Car-free cycle paths lead through woodland and past ponds and the arboretum. Accessibility centre Inter has assessed the route: the path is sufficiently wide and has no steep inclines.

Bokrijk has its own railway station. If you plan to bring your bicycle, check the carriage rules for your chosen train beforehand. A GPX file is available on the route page to help you make the pond crossing part of a wider outing.

Allow time for the landscape itself. Slow down, leave room for oncoming visitors and choose a place for photographs where you do not obstruct the path. A short stretch beside the water can become the highlight of the whole ride. The photograph dates from September 2018.
