Speed is only one consideration for a working bicycle on rough roads. It also has to carry a load, remain comfortable to use and be repairable. The new Buffalo One and Buffalo Pro retain a shared core design while offering different brake and drivetrain combinations for different daily needs.
The Buffalo One has a front disc brake and a rear coaster brake. The Buffalo Pro has disc brakes at both wheels and two gears selected with a brief backward pedal movement. Its drivetrain needs no external derailleur or shift cable exposed to damage on rough roads. The lower gear is intended to help on climbs or when carrying heavier loads.
Both models have a redesigned rear carrier rated for up to 100 kilograms. Two frame sizes are also available for the first time, making it easier to match the bicycle to its rider. A shared design supports a common system for spare parts and repairs. The design benefit is less about a single striking component than keeping a useful bicycle at work for longer.
