The Cēsis region’s motorcycle route runs for 358 kilometres. It is designed to take riders through the curves and landscapes of the Vidzeme Upland rather than centre the trip on a single stop. Motorcycle club MC XIII developed it together with the Cēsis municipality’s business and tourism office.
Most of the route is paved, but it also includes unpaved stretches. That matters when planning a trip on a heavier touring motorcycle or with a passenger: study the route map, check the weather and allow for a gentler pace when the tarmac ends.
The municipality suggests extending the ride into a longer weekend with an overnight stay in the region. The full 358 kilometres need not become a one-day target. Breaking the distance into sections leaves time to stop and keeps the changing road surface from setting the pace for the entire trip.
