With Clik Valve, a matching pump head pushes onto the valve until it clicks and pulls off after inflation. The change is in the connection itself: there is no pump-head lever to close each time you inflate a tyre.
A tubeless wheel can receive a complete replacement valve or just a replacement for its removable Presta core. The latter leaves the valve stem in the rim. When choosing a complete valve, its length must suit the rim depth and leave clearance for the pump head.
An existing pump can also be adapted: replace its head or fit a suitable adapter in its Schrader port. Securing the adapter and checking the connection for leaks remain important parts of installation. Switching therefore need not mean buying another pump.
An ordinary push-on or clamp-on Presta head can inflate a Clik valve, but cannot check pressure. Screw-on Presta heads are incompatible. Check the compatibility of your carry-along pump before switching too: a convenient connection at home needs a considered solution on the road.
