Demi Vollering’s 2026 season brought success across markedly different races. The Dutch rider took 16 victories between February and early October and won her first road race world title in Montréal. She also finishes the season at the top of the Women Elite individual world ranking. It is a record built over more than one strong weekend, spanning spring one-day races, major stage races and championship events.

In the spring, Vollering won Omloop Nieuwsblad and took her first Tour of Flanders victory. Wins at La Flèche Wallonne and Liège–Bastogne–Liège followed. Those events demand different tactics and responses to terrain, making the run a measure of her range rather than a repetition of the same effort. During the summer she added overall titles at both the Giro d’Italia Women and the Tour de France Femmes, bringing together two major stage-race goals in one year.

The world championship in Montréal added another dimension to the season. Vollering amassed 9,330 ranking points for the year, while the next rider, Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney, finished on 5,660. A points gap cannot tell the story of every race, but it does show how consistently Vollering scored across the calendar. Her year illustrates the value of a one-day breakthrough as well as the harder task of returning to winning form throughout a long road season.
