Trentino’s Four Passes ride brings together the Pordoi, Sella, Campolongo and Rolle passes. The destination is only part of its appeal: the road threads through the mountain scenery of the Fiemme and Fassa valleys and climbs above 2,000 metres. The regional tourism guide counts around 50 hairpin bends, making this a route where a calm riding rhythm matters as much as the panorama.

Combining four passes gives riders several perspectives on the Dolomites, but the number in the route’s name is no reason to rush. Conditions on high mountain roads can change quickly, while photo stops and rest breaks add time to the day. Choose places to pause in advance, leave a margin of daylight and ride unfamiliar bends at a pace that gives you room to respond to what lies beyond the corner.

It is better to plan this as a mountain journey than as four points to tick off on a map. Before departure, check whether each pass is open, along with the latest weather and road restrictions, especially outside summer. Prepare the motorcycle for long climbs and descents, inspect its tires and brakes, and pack an extra warm layer: air at the top can feel markedly cooler than it does in the valley.
