Ducati offers load-based service scheduling for the Desmo450 MX family. An algorithm evaluates operating conditions to build an engine-wear indicator. The feature is activated through a free engine-control software update at a dealer.
MID service, including piston replacement and valve-clearance checks, falls at 45–60 engine hours; full engine service at 90–120 hours. The Desmo450 MX Factory specification separately lists oil and filter service at 15 hours. The longest interval therefore does not apply to every task.
Service deadlines appear in the X-Link app. Connection requires a Com-Link Wi-Fi module, which is not standard on every model. The app displays engine hours and service counters but cannot reset them from the phone. A dealer can clarify equipment and compatibility for the particular motorcycle.
The value of this approach is more precise workshop planning: equal time on a track can involve different loads. The upper interval limit should not be treated as automatic permission to postpone servicing; follow the indications for your motorcycle.
