The latest collaboration between Ducati and LEGO brings motorcycle mechanics to the building table. The 457-piece LEGO Technic Desmo450 MX Factory is based on Ducati’s race-ready motocross bike. It is the partners’ second motorcycle model, following the Panigale V4 R released in 2020. Choosing an off-road machine also reflects how far Ducati has expanded its motorcycle range in recent years.
The model has working steering, front and rear suspension, and a mechanism in which the rear wheel drives the engine through a chain. Those moving parts offer a glimpse of how a motorcycle is put together, beyond its outline. The full-size Desmo450 MX Factory is the competition-ready version of the Desmo450 MX; the construction model focuses on recognisable components and their movements rather than ride performance. The set is intended for builders aged ten and above.
The new set is scheduled to appear alongside the real bike at Italy’s Lucca Comics & Games event from 28 October to 1 November. A full-size construction-brick Panigale V4 R will also be on display. For motorcycle enthusiasts, the appeal lies in making mechanical relationships visible: steering, suspension and drive can all be explored at the workbench.
