Cyclists, club volunteers and newcomers will gather in Edinburgh on 31 October for an annual meeting focused on the people behind Scotland’s cycling community. The event at Augustine United Church on George IV Bridge runs from 10:30 to 16:00, with talks beginning at 11:00. Entry is free with a reserved place. Its programme moves between long-distance adventures, local group work and the experience of returning to riding after serious illness.

Mountain biker Kerry McPhee is due to share stories from the Atlas Mountains and the Silk Road, as well as her work setting up community cycling groups in the Trossachs. Endurance rider Christina Mackenzie will speak about recovering from a serious injury and a stroke before returning to high-level riding. She holds the LEJOG record and was the fastest woman in the 2026 thousand-mile Trans Alba race. Together, their stories connect adventurous travel with the support that helps more people ride.

A separate panel will discuss cycle campaigning, while Ross Adams will give an update on the Gallovidian Gravel route. The organisers also plan updates on community projects and lunch for attendees. People who are not members are welcome, making the gathering a way to see how clubs, advocates and riders contribute to cycling beyond race results and route maps.
