Across the 19 European markets covered by Piaggio Group’s half-year report, 421,027 scooters were registered from January through June, up 13.5% on the same period a year earlier. Latvia is not among those markets, so the figures should not be read as a total for all of Europe or as a measure of Latvian demand.

Scooters above 50 cc accounted for most registrations: 352,415 units, a 15.3% rise. The segment up to 50 cc recorded 68,612 units, up 5.1%. The difference shows that larger everyday-transport scooters supplied most of the new registrations.

Electric scooter registrations reached 32,842, an increase of 12.3%. Their share of the overall scooter market nevertheless edged down to 7.8%, from 7.9% in the first half of 2025. Electric models are growing in number, but for now they are not gaining share against the market as a whole.
