The 2026 BIMP records European production of 10.820 million bicycles, including electrically assisted pedal cycles, in 2025, broadly unchanged from 2024. Sales totalled 15.618 million units, down 2.6%.
Comparisons need matching coverage. The EU industrial statistics bulletin on bicycle production in 2023 covers non-motorised cycles; Latvia’s figures were withheld for confidentiality. That does not mean zero production.

These reports therefore cannot simply form one growth curve: their years, territories and product coverage differ. When reading an industry headline, first check whether it measures production or sales, and whether electrically assisted bicycles are included.
