Start FOX Transfer dropper maintenance by identifying the generation. The 2021–2024 manual calls for cleaning the exterior with mild soap and water after every ride, then drying it with a soft towel. A full service is due after 125 hours or annually, whichever comes first.

The 2025–2027 Transfer manual has a different schedule: basic grease service every 25 hours, intermediate service at 125 hours and a full service at 300 hours or annually. Very muddy or dusty conditions can require earlier attention. These intervals should not automatically be applied to other versions.

The newer generation’s 25-hour procedure includes cleaning around the collar and applying Slick Honey beneath it. After reassembly, the post is cycled two or three times and excess grease wiped away. A qualified bicycle technician should follow the complete procedure for the specific model.

If the newer Transfer stops returning fully, initial checks include whether the frame’s seatpost clamp is overtightened and when the collar was last serviced. Full servicing is more involved and best entrusted to a professional. Recording the precise model and riding hours makes workshop visits easier to plan.
