Two Canal des 2 Mers à vélo stages connect Agen with Moissac in southwestern France. The first covers 27 km to Valence d’Agen, followed by 17 km to Moissac: roughly 44 km altogether. Town visits and detours add to that distance.

From Agen’s port, the route follows a signposted greenway beside the Garonne canal. Valence d’Agen makes a useful stop, with historic washhouses, a market hall and a port to explore.

Between Valence d’Agen and Moissac, the towpath occasionally gives way to short stretches of shared road. Plan for those sections, particularly with children, rather than treating the whole ride as separated from motor traffic.

In Moissac, leave time for the abbey’s cloister and Romanesque portal. A long lunch stop and a visit at the finish can shape a leisurely day. Download the current route before setting off; if returning by train, check bicycle carriage conditions for the specific service.
