Austria’s Grossglockner High Alpine Road connects the areas around Fusch and Heiligenblut. Its 48 kilometres include 36 hairpin bends, while the Hochtor tunnel sits at 2,504 metres. Treating this stretch as a destination in its own right leaves room to appreciate the scenery.

The side road to Edelweiss Spitze reaches 2,571 metres and includes cobblestones. Reserved motorcycle parking is available there. Equipment lockers at Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe and the southern end of the Hochtor tunnel offer somewhere to leave a helmet while taking a short walk.
