Norway’s Hardanger scenic route comprises four stretches: Granvin–Steinsdalsfossen, Norheimsund–Tørvikbygd, Jondal–Utne and Kinsarvik–Låtefoss. For a motorcycle tour, this means assembling a journey from separate shoreline roads rather than following one continuous line.
Ferries connect Tørvikbygd–Jondal and Kinsarvik–Utne–Kvanndal. Check timetables and road conditions before departure, allowing room in the day for waiting and stops.
Steinsdalsfossen rewards a break from the saddle: a footpath runs behind the waterfall itself. Parts of the attraction close in winter. At Låtefossen, water rushes beside a stone bridge; parking is limited and summer traffic can be heavy.
The narrow, winding roads between fjord and orchards call for an unhurried pace. Choose a suitable stopping place to enjoy the view. Build each riding day around ferry connections and the walks you want to take: distance alone says little about the time to allow.
