A single month of registrations illustrates the scale of India’s motorised two-wheeler market. About 1.818 million new vehicles were registered in July 2026, compared with 1.419 million in the same month a year earlier. That is a rise of 28.15%.
Motorcycles made up 56.9% of July registrations, while scooters accounted for 32.2%. The split is a reminder that the “two-wheeler market” covers different needs: everyday motorcycles and urban scooters serve distinct kinds of journeys.
These figures describe India in one specific month and cannot be applied directly to Latvia. They do, however, show how significant motorised two-wheelers can be for personal mobility where the volume of daily travel is vast.
