The Jæren scenic route follows roads 507 and 44 from Bore to Flekkefjord. Its total length is 130 kilometres, including the branch to Sogndalstrand. Farmland, stone walls and the open North Sea coast shape the ride.
Heading south, plan a pause at Borestranda or Orrestranda beach. Farther south, the road towards Jøssingfjord becomes narrower and more winding; allow time there for the Helleren houses beneath their rock overhang. The stops make this ride more rewarding than simply accumulating distance.
Kvassheim lighthouse deserves a stop of its own. Built in 1912 and operational until 1990, the restored complex houses exhibitions about sea rescue and local nature. Check opening hours for an indoor visit rather than relying only on the route map.
Leave spare time in the riding plan: a beach walk adds time away from the motorcycle, while narrow stretches require room for oncoming traffic. Check wind forecasts and road alerts before setting off. Use parking areas for photographs so the motorcycle stays clear of traffic.
