Jūrmala will host its cycling marathon on Sunday, 25 October, with the start and finish area beside the Dzintari Forest Park car park on Lazdonas Street. Planned as a season-ending day for riders of different ages, the programme reaches beyond cyclists who race regularly.
There are three distinct rides to choose from: a 30 km People’s Distance for a sportier pace, a 15 km Family Distance for a more relaxed outing together, and a 500 m children’s race. The range lets participants match the ride to their experience instead of asking everyone to keep the same pace.
The park will also host children’s activities, a cycling show and a warm-up before the main starts. Race numbers will be issued in advance at the marathon stand in the Rīga Plaza shopping centre. Before travelling, riders should check the start time for their chosen distance and registration details with the organiser.
