Kadeena Cox emerged as one of the standout riders during the four days of the 2026 UCI Para Cycling Track World Championships in Apeldoorn. The British rider won the women’s C4 one-kilometre time trial in a world-record 1 minute 9.545 seconds. Pre-race favourite Tara Neyland of Australia finished second, with Cox setting the fastest time when it mattered.
Cox then returned for the sprint. She recorded another world record, 11.409 seconds, in qualifying and went on to beat Neyland again in the final. It was her first individual sprint world title, adding a new discipline to her previous championship successes in the time trial. Two records and two gold medals at one event underline the different demands of explosive sprint speed and a sustained one-kilometre effort.
C4 is one of the track para cycling classifications in which riders use a conventional bicycle, with adaptations where needed. Cox’s results also contributed to a broader British performance: the team collected 27 medals, including eight golds, and topped the medal table. Her individual story remains distinct within that total, built on precise performances across two very different track events.
