The Bicycle Association’s figures for 2025 mark a turn after several years of decline in the UK: total market value rose 5% from 2024. The association describes this as the first annual growth since 2020. The market approached £1.9 billion in value, although it had yet to regain the level reached during the pandemic.
Growth was not confined to one product category. Unit sales rose 6% for conventional bicycles, 2% for e-bikes and 1% for parts and accessories, while services grew 8%. The value of e-bike sales rose faster, by 10%, showing why the segment cannot be judged solely by the number of bikes sold.
The association links part of the recovery to renewed recreational and family cycling, alongside favourable spring and summer weather in 2025. These are UK figures, not a direct measure of Latvia’s market. They do, however, show the difference between a sales recovery and a full return to an earlier market high.
