Moto Gymkhana is a riding skills competition: the rider aims to complete a course marked by coloured cones quickly and accurately. A compact space demands several turns linked into one flowing run. Motorcycle control is the central challenge.
A course can often be completed in first or second gear. It calls for precise throttle, brake and steering inputs, together with balance. An ordinary road motorcycle can be a starting point without major modifications; clubs offer tuition and shared practice alongside timed runs.
Typical elements include slaloms, circles, U-turns and figure eights. In practice, cones help develop skills rather than merely memorise one layout. Spacing and difficulty can be adjusted so the exercise challenges the rider without exceeding their ability.
For a first introduction, we suggest an organised session on a closed practice area. Check the equipment and motorcycle requirements before booking, and whether beginners are welcome. A smooth, repeatable run makes a useful initial goal; improving the time can come later.
