Start a rear stand purchase with the motorcycle’s swingarm. Screw-in lifting bobbins need matching fork-shaped supports on the stand. Check the bolt thread too: M10 alone is insufficient because both 1.5 and 1.25 millimetre pitches are available. Confirm the required size with the motorcycle manufacturer.
A single-sided swingarm stand may need a pin that fits inside the hollow hub; a slider installed through that hub can obstruct it. Front stands support either the fork bottoms or the steering stem. The latter arrangement permits fork removal, so match the design to the maintenance you intend to perform.
Pivot-mounted abba stands use a different approach. A model-specific adapter fits over a swingarm pivot bolt or nut head, or inside the corresponding recess. The fitting kit must suit the particular motorcycle; sharing a motorcycle brand does not automatically mean sharing the same adapters.
Read the model and year-specific notes before ordering. For example, abba identifies covers that restrict access to the pivot on the Honda CB750 Hornet from 2023 onwards. Compatibility checks should cover both the adapters and access to the support points. Plan use around the instructions for the chosen stand.
