Blind-spot warnings serve another purpose: a visual signal draws attention to a vehicle in a difficult-to-see area. Forward collision warnings instead flag a critical approach to traffic ahead. A warning does not, by itself, mean automatic braking.
Some newer systems can also bring cruise-controlled riding to a standstill. With automatic transmission, the Bosch version lets the rider resume using a button or a small throttle input. This capability should not be assumed on every radar-equipped motorcycle.
