Steel bicycle frames often evoke traditional craft. In Pashley’s Roadfinder family, that craft sits alongside newer manufacturing methods: the frame design incorporates 3D-printed and laser-cut elements. The bicycles are made at the company’s workshop in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Roadfinder is a family of bikes rather than a single riding brief. It includes the road-focused SL, the versatile Roadfinder, the gravel-oriented X and the electrically assisted E and XE versions. A shared frame platform makes it easier to see how wheels, drivetrain and equipment change a bicycle’s role while the underlying design approach remains consistent.

The practical details matter too: mounts for luggage and bottles, plus room for wider tyres and mudguards. The design story therefore reaches beyond one unusual frame component. It continues into the choice between an everyday ride, a longer journey and a gravel route.
