Pinlock anti-fog inserts are shaped for particular visors. DKS is the product coding system that distinguishes them. Before ordering, identify the helmet and the visor actually fitted, then check the matching insert in the manufacturer’s compatibility information. The brand name alone is not enough to choose one.
The numbers 30, 70, 120 and 200 describe anti-fog performance levels, rather than size. The range positions 30 for city riding and 70 for everyday use, with 120 and 200 aimed at more demanding conditions. Compare levels among the versions specified for your visor.
MaxVision has a separate meaning: the insert fits into a dedicated visor recess to extend the fog-resistant field of view. Moisture-absorbing material and an airtight seal work together, creating an insulating air layer. The visor’s construction therefore matters alongside the chosen performance level.
SHOEI provides a useful compatibility example: CWR-F2 and CWR-F2R visors use DKS304, while CWR-1 takes DKS301 and CWR-F takes DKS303. Similar names can represent different combinations. Before paying, compare the complete visor reference and insert code with the manufacturer’s table, particularly if the visor has previously been replaced.
