No single pressure suits every bicycle. Narrower tyres and heavier rider-and-luggage loads generally need more pressure; wider tyres allow lower pressures.
Use a gauge: squeezing the tyre with your thumb cannot reliably measure pressure.
Check both tyre and rim manufacturers’ instructions before inflating. When the rim’s maximum is lower than the tyre’s, the rim limit applies. This is particularly important for hookless rims: the tyre model and width must also be compatible with that specific rim.
Note your chosen setting alongside luggage load and ride impressions. That gives your next adjustment a useful point of comparison.
