For years, cycling around Riga often meant useful individual segments that did not always connect into a confident daily route. Regional links are now becoming one of the most important topics for everyday riders.
Riga Municipality reports that three regional cycle paths have been completed this summer, adding 17.4 kilometres of new infrastructure on the Riga-Ulbroka, Riga-Babīte-Piņķi and Riga-Ķekava corridors.
This is not just a story about fresh asphalt. For cyclists, continuity matters most: being able to ride from home to work, school, a train station or the city centre without awkward points where the route simply disappears.
