A 12-kilometre cycle route connects Ringaudai, Kačerginė and Zapyškis in the Kaunas district beside the Nemunas. Its appeal is more than the modest distance: woodland, river panoramas, viewpoints and small cultural stops share the journey. It suits an unhurried half-day outing, with more time set aside for pauses than the distance alone might suggest.

Near Kačerginė, the Pypliai hillfort makes a worthwhile detour for its view across the area. The town also offers a linden park, a fairy-tale park, St Anne’s chapel and wooden villas from the interwar period. Farther on, the old Church of St John the Baptist by the river marks a natural pause in Zapyškis. The ride combines landscape and local architecture while remaining manageable as a short excursion.

Between May and September, a ferry from the Zapyškis landing connects to Kulautuva and makes a longer circuit along the opposite bank possible. By October, that seasonal crossing should not be the basis of the plan; returning by the same route is the straightforward option. Check the weather before setting off and leave enough daylight for a relaxed pace. The riverside views and town stops give good reason not to rush.
