The Scottish Six Days Trial combines obstacle-riding skill with endurance across six days. Fort William in the Scottish Highlands is its base, with each day’s route starting and finishing in town. The next edition is announced for 3–8 May 2027.

Observed sections reward balance and concentration: riders must stay within the markers and keep their feet on the footrests. Putting a foot down incurs penalties, while failing to complete a section costs more. Wet rocks, streams and steep slopes demand precise motorcycle control.

A day can cover up to 100 miles, about 161 kilometres, and around 30 observed sections. Connecting stretches cross moorland, rocky tracks and public roads. Managing energy and keeping the motorcycle reliable throughout the week are therefore part of the challenge.

Spectating is free, but use the official programme to plan access: not every section is open to spectators. Reach permitted viewing spots by road and on foot. Following the event off-road on your own motorcycle is prohibited; landowners’ permission covers competitors and officials.
