Norway’s scenic route on Senja runs between Botnhamn and Gryllefjord, including short detours to Husøy and Mefjordvær. Its total length is 102 kilometres. On a motorcycle tour, this stage deserves time out of the saddle too.
Bergsbotn’s 44-metre viewing platform overlooks Bergsfjorden. At Tungeneset, a wooden walkway crosses the rocks toward views of the Okshornan peaks, while Ersfjordstranda offers a white-sand beach framed by mountains.
The island can be reached by bridge via Finnsnes or by ferry. If using Botnhamn–Brensholmen or Gryllefjord–Andenes, check the timetable for your travel date and current road notices before setting out.
Coastal weather can change quickly. Leave room in the plan: stop at a viewpoint, park the motorcycle and explore on foot. The appeal lies in the changing fjords, villages and mountains, with little reason to rush through them.
