Redshift’s ShockStop stem is designed to reduce bumps and vibrations felt while riding. The manufacturer specifies up to 20 mm of effective suspension travel. Replaceable elastomers provide the spring action: flexible elements whose stiffness can be selected to suit the rider.

A pair of elastomers lets riders change how the handlebar movement feels. Redshift recommends starting with the instruction chart for rider weight and handlebar style, then adjusting the setup. A firmer combination feels closer to a rigid stem; a softer one gives more noticeable suspension movement.

Compatibility involves separate handlebar and steerer connections. The handlebar clamp measures 31.8 mm, with shims available for 25.4 and 26.0 mm bars. Stem length and angle also affect riding position, so choose them alongside the desired handlebar reach and height.

Parts within the same product family are not all interchangeable. Elastomers for 80–120 mm ShockStop stems have a different shape from those for the 55 and 70 mm versions. Those short versions are for drop handlebars only. Check the selected version’s specifications and fitting instructions before installation.
