SHOEI helmets are made in Japan at the Ibaraki and Iwate factories. Their production combines material forming, precision trimming and hand assembly. The finished painted surface represents just one part of a much longer process.

The outer shell begins with a preform of organic and glass fibres. It is impregnated with thermosetting resin and heated to form the shell. Laser equipment trims away excess material; each shell then undergoes checks that include thickness and weight.

Painting combines machinery and manual work. The surface is primed and sanded, inspected for readiness, then painted. Workers position graphic transfers by hand, while a clear coat completes the finish. Only inspected shells proceed to assembly.

The impact-absorbing liner, interior padding, visor and ventilation components are fitted by hand. A final inspection precedes packing. This sequence shows how repeatable machine precision and workers’ attention to finishing details come together in the production of one item.
