Near the Slovenian–Austrian border, the Solčava Panoramic Road winds between the peaks of the Kamnik–Savinja Alps and high-mountain farms. The local tourism organisation says the full route is 37 kilometres long and can be ridden by motorcycle. Its appeal lies in the stops and valley views, rather than speed.
With less time available, riders can choose the central 21-kilometre section with 12 stops. Most of it follows a paved road, though a short part is gravel. Optional branches lead towards the Matkov kot valley and Bukovnik farm; assess each separately against the motorcycle and rider’s comfort on the surface.
The route can be entered from Solčava, the Logar Valley and other sides of the region. Mountain weather and road conditions can change quickly, so check current conditions before riding and leave enough time for unhurried stops.
