New-vehicle registrations tell only part of the motorcycle market story. A survey of motorcycle-portal users in Spain looks at decisions before a sale: 55 per cent of respondents plan to buy a motorcycle within the next year, and half of prospective buyers are considering a used model. Twenty per cent named a new motorcycle as their preferred choice. These are the intentions of survey participants, not completed purchases or a forecast for the whole market.
The average planned budget in the survey is €5,067 for a used motorcycle and €9,116 for a new one. Beyond price, the responses show openness to changing brands: 55 per cent of prospective buyers would consider a Chinese motorcycle brand. Competitive pricing is the main attraction for that group. Others remain reluctant, citing doubts about after-sales service and the availability of replacement parts.
That tension matters beyond Spain. The purchase price is only one part of a motorcycle decision; verifiable condition, maintenance access and parts supply matter over time. The survey cannot tell us what Latvian buyers would choose. It does, however, point to useful questions before any purchase: what can be checked on this particular motorcycle, and where can it be kept in good condition?
