October brought contrasting results for Spain’s powered two-wheeler market, according to industry association ANESDOR. Registrations across the L category rose 5% to 27,936 vehicles, but scooters supplied much of the growth. They accounted for 53.9% of the month’s market. The overall total has now exceeded the comparable month of the previous year for ten consecutive months.

Scooter registrations climbed 14.2% to 15,046 units, helped especially by the 125cc class, which grew 19.8%. Motorcycle registrations, meanwhile, fell 7.7%, and mopeds declined 0.4%. The split matters more than the headline increase alone: demand for scooters suited to everyday urban trips remained strong in October while the motorcycle segment contracted.

Across the first ten months of 2026, Spain registered 269,297 L-category vehicles, 19.4% more than a year earlier. ANESDOR points out that October 2025 was an unusually strong comparison and that this October had one fewer working day. A single month’s decline in motorcycles therefore cannot establish a longer downturn. The figures instead show how vehicle segments can move in opposite directions within a growing overall market.
