Strong vibrations at certain frequencies can impair an iPhone camera’s optical stabilisation and autofocus. Apple advises against mounting the phone on motorcycles with powerful or large-displacement engines. For smaller and electric engines, it recommends vibration damping and avoiding regular, prolonged exposure.
The Quad Lock Vibration Dampener uses silicone inserts to reduce high-frequency vibration. It fits the brand’s motorcycle mounts and should sit as close to the phone as possible. Some movement is intentional. The dampener is not a camera stabiliser, and recording while riding can increase camera damage risk even with it fitted.
The case also determines compatibility. The current SP Connect Anti Vibration Module accepts current Standard, Design Edition and Xtreme cases, but classic SPC cases with straight rails do not fit. Compare the specific mount, dampener and case rather than relying on a shared brand name.
