The Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road runs from Untergurgl over the pass to Moos in Passeier. Its two sections total 34.6 km, with around 30 hairpin bends and gradients reaching 13 percent. Meadows gradually give way to stark high mountain scenery.
An autumn ride needs a flexible plan. Weather determines the end of the season, and the exact closure date is announced at short notice. Check road status and the forecast before departure, and plan an alternative route.
On the Hochgurgl side, the TOP Mountain Motorcycle Museum makes a worthwhile stop beside the road at 2,175 metres. Its 4,500 m² exhibition features historic motorcycles and cars. Allow dedicated time for the museum while leaving enough time to enjoy the mountain ride.
