The 2026 Flat Track World Championship ended in Totoras, Argentina, with a first for Great Britain. Tim Neave became the country’s first world champion in the discipline. He needed only one point on the final day of the ten-round calendar, and a win in a qualifying heat settled the matter before the evening final. The championship was therefore safe regardless of how his last race unfolded.

That final still showed how unpredictable a dirt oval can be. Neave did not get away at the front and finished twelfth, his lowest score of the season. Local rider Matias Lorenzato led for much of the race, but fell on lap nine and Juan José Coduri inherited the lead. Coduri won in front of the Argentine crowd while the world title was already in British hands. The winner of the day and the winner of the season were different riders.

Neave’s rival Jack Bell finished the championship with silver, while Spain’s Gerard Bailo took bronze. The Argentine rounds were also the first Flat Track World Championship races outside Europe in the series’ sixteen-year history. The finale marked two changes at once: a wider map for the competition and Britain’s first champion. Neave’s result is a reminder that a season title is built from points gathered over many rounds, not necessarily from the most striking finish in the last race.
