Tindevegen is a 32-kilometre mountain road between Øvre Årdal and Turtagrø in Norway. It connects the Årdal area with Luster and the Sognefjellsvegen scenic route, making it a link from the Sognefjord towards Jotunheimen on a motorcycle tour.

Allow time to leave the motorcycle parked: a short walk from the road opens up views towards Hurrungane and Store Skagastølstind in the east, and the Sognefjord and Skjolden in the west. Here, time spent looking can matter more than distance covered.

The road normally opens from May to November; that does not guarantee access on a particular day. Check current road notices and weather before heading uphill. The road’s website provides cameras, including views at the toll station and towards both ends of the route.

Motorcycles also pay a toll. Payment is available at a paypoint or online within 48 hours of passing; an invoice follows if payment is not made within that period. Check the current tariff before travelling.
