Finland’s Archipelago Trail turns 30 in 2026. This year’s summer season for the complete circuit ended on 13 September. The coast can still be explored in autumn, but a full loop cannot be planned around summer ferry timetables: some connections are seasonal.
Of the roughly 250-kilometre route, 220 kilometres are on land and the remainder on water. Most cycling is on roads rather than separate cycle paths. Most ferries are free, but there are exceptions; Antonia has both a fare and a booking system.
For a future trip, connect overnight stops with specific ferry departures before dividing the distance into daily stages. Allow time for stops and queues as well. A shorter stage with a relaxed evening by the water may offer more than a dash for the last sailing.
