First-half conventional bicycle sales in Germany rose almost 10%, and e-bike sales around 2%, against the same period in 2025. Production increased by 6% and more than 4% respectively. Retailers remain cautious about orders.
For context, combined bicycle and e-bike sales fell 3.9% to 3.8 million units across the whole of 2025. Sales revenue declined 7.7% to €5.85 billion.
The half-year increase can therefore be read as a sign of recovery, but it does not establish the full-year outcome. Changes in unit sales alone also tell us little about how retailers’ profits have developed.
