Liepāja’s old town can be explored by bicycle without leaving the city. The 11-kilometre Vecliepāja route covers the area between Lake Liepāja, the Baltic Sea and the Trade Canal. It brings city architecture and coastal scenery into a single ride.

The route passes through the centre and historic streets, follows the canal and continues through the Seaside Park towards the beach and lake. It offers a change of scene from city streets to green space and the waterfront without requiring a long trip beyond Liepāja.

The surfaces include asphalt, paving stones and a beach section, so it makes sense to allow for changes under the tyres and ride at a suitable pace. Liepāja’s tourism information recommends the loop for active riders of different ages. Across the city, there are more than 55 kilometres of cycling infrastructure.
