Veda Ega Pratama’s route to a Moto3 podium is more than the story of one successful race. The rider from Indonesia’s Gunungkidul region started young and built his experience step by step in international junior competition. In 2023 he became the first Indonesian to win the Asia Talent Cup.
Racing in Europe followed. Pratama finished runner-up in the 2025 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, taking three wins along the way. At only his second Moto3 World Championship round, the 2026 Brazilian Grand Prix, he finished third. It was the first time an Indonesian rider had stood on a Grand Prix podium.
His preparation goes beyond speed on the circuit. Before visiting unfamiliar tracks, Pratama studies race footage and also uses the MotoGP video game. His path shows how many different skills a young rider needs to move from local racing to the world championship.
