When choosing replacement wheels, start with their attachment to your frame and fork: axle type, diameter and hub mounting width. Check conversion options for the specific hub model. A different end cap does not automatically make every wheel compatible with your bicycle.
Next, compare the braking system. For disc brakes, the rotor attachment must also match: Center Lock uses a splined interface and a single lockring, while the six-bolt system uses six M5 bolts. Matching wheel diameters do not guarantee that your existing rotor will fit the new hub.
The cassette must match the freehub body, not just the number of gears. For example, an XDR body is 1.85 mm longer than XD. An XD cassette can fit an XDR body with a 1.85 mm spacer behind the cassette. Knowing the exact interface matters before buying.
Finally, check rim and tyre compatibility, particularly with hookless rims. Schwalbe specifies TLE or TLR tyres for these rims even when using an inner tube. Follow the permitted tyre widths and the pressure limits of both tyre and rim; the lower applicable limit takes priority.
